The Aerobie Orbiter boomerang is totally different from the classic design of v-shaped boomerangs. The first, and most important, difference is the fact that it actually comes back to you! It is also lighter, softer, and considerably less dangerous than a classic wooden boomerang.
The Orbiter boomerang combines a high tech, triangular design with a bright colored, soft rubber edge. These features make it easy to throw, easy to see, and soft to catch. Throwing instructions printed on the boomerang will help you learn to play catch with yourself in no time!

The Aerobie Orbiter boomerang is much easier to throw successfully than a wooden boomerang, but it still takes some practice. Here are some tips that will help you master throwing the Orbiter boomerang in no time!
The first detail is the angle you hold the Orbiter boomerang when you throw it. Hold the Aerobie Orbiter in front of you and imagine that it is a clock hand. Hold it at the 1 o'clock angle, which is 30 degrees to the right. If you are left handed, you still need to throw the Orbiter at the 1 o'clock angle, not 11 o'clock.
The next detail is where to aim the Aerobie boomerang. It would be nice if the Orbiter was like a homing pigeon and would come back to you no matter where you throw it, but reality insists this is not the case. Aim the Aerobie Orbiter at the ground about 90 feet in front of you.
My personal experience with the Orbiter has been that it will fly directly towards the spot on the ground you aimed it at until you are almost sure you did it wrong and it's going to crash. Then, all of a sudden, the Orbiter makes a sharp turn up and to the left. It goes high into the air on your left, then circles back very close to where you threw it from. The more you practice, the closer it gets!
The Orbiter boomerang can also be "tuned" to adjust its flight path. You can slightly bend the tips up for higher flights or down for lower ones.
