Spike Your Juice has, according to its manufacturer, been popular in Europe for quite a while as a way to make a European drink called Federweißer. Spike Your Juice is faster, easier, and cheaper than home wine making or beer brewing. It's about as hard to do as making Kool Aid, except that you have to use the special pressure cap and you have to wait 2 days for it to be done fermenting.
To use it, you basically just pour one of the Spike Your Juice packets into a 64 ounce bottle of fruit juice, put some water into the pressure cap, and put in on the bottle instead of the screw-on cap that came with the juice.
After that, you just let it sit at room temperature for a day or two and - voila! - you have 64 ounces of homemade, fizzy Federweißer with approximately 14% alcohol by volume. The instructions say that the longer it ferments, the more alcohol and the "drier" the taste.
It's important that you use the special pressure regulator cap. Otherwise the bottle will explode, and you'll have to clean up 64 ounces of sticky fruit juice.
